This position functions as the program support assistant within the Non-Institutional Care Department in Nursing at Captain Rosemary Bryant Mariner Outpatient Clinic in Ventura, California with the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The incumbent supports an array of technical, training, research, planning, and administrative activities.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Performs work involving the collection, formatting, basic analysis, compilation, and/or tracking of a wide variety of data and statistical information in support of an organization's program operation.
Creates, maintains and updates patient information databases.
Assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results and data capturing processes for program/project studies.
Monitor unit's Acustaf daily schedules to ensure that changes will be noted on time and attendance cards.
Performs a variety of administrative and support type duties in such areas as administration, budget, records and files management, property accountability and reports.
Monitor/track credentials and licensing requirements for professional staff assigned to Non-Institutional Care Reviews, revises, analyzes and evaluates the accomplishments of various office administrative functions, such as records management, reports control, forms control and administrative standard operating procedures. Incumbent serves as an ADPAC for Nursing Service Non-Institutional Care.
Routinely communicates with physicians, case managers, and other allied health professional staff using sound interpersonal skills and is constantly aware of the sensitive information.
Coordinate transportation to the Veteran Affairs based on eligibility criteria via Veteran Affairs transportation (car, wheelchair van, ambulance) or public Access transportation.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items like papers or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Performing work that involves collecting, formatting, basic analysis, compilation, and/or tracking of a wide variety of data and statistical information in support of an organization's program operation; creating, maintaining and updating patient information databases; performing a variety of administrative and support type duties in such areas as administration, budget, records and files management, property accountability and reports; monitoring/tracking credentials and licensing requirements for professional staff assigned to Non-Institutional Care Reviews, revising, analyzing and evaluating the accomplishments of various office administrative functions, such as records management, reports control, forms control and administrative standard operating procedures; managing daily government vehicle logs (mileage, check in/check out), maintenance, vehicle rotation calendar, key maintenance, and car professional standards are upkept. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: Work involves interviewing and observing research subjects, assisting subjects during walking and transferring tasks during the physical performance tests, meeting with team members, sitting at a computer terminal or desk. Work involves carrying equipment and laptop computers that may weigh 10- homes. The incumbent observes normal safety precautions while working.
Work Environment; Work is performed in an office setting. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Specific potential materials hazards, precautionary measures and remedial actions are outlined in the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The work area is adequately lighted, temperature controlled and ventilated.
