About the Position: Serves as Community Relations (COMREL) Officer for US SOUTHCOM . Responsible for providing technical advice on planning, programming, coordinating and carrying out advisory services oncommunity relations.

Duties

Serves as Community Relations (COMREL) Officer for SOUTHCOM. Responsible for providing technical advice on planning, programming, coordinating and carrying out advisory services on community relations. Serves as principal project officer for SOUTHCOM COMREL programs. Plans and develops the execution of community relations goals and objectives. Provides advice and assistance to senior leadership on all matters pertaining to community programs. Maintains liaison with the Office of Strategic Messaging and other subordinate organizations for the purpose of coordination and to keep abreast of matters of interest to SOUTHCOM.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
