Duties

You will operate one or more types of gasoline or diesel-powered special purpose airfield clearing equipment, including vacuum type sweepers to clear runways, taxiways, ramps, and aprons of foreign objects. You will operate equipment with specially designed attachments used separately or simultaneously. You will operate equipment with a hydraulic dumping mechanism to unload the debris as the completion of the airfield sweep, manipulating the hydraulic controls to raise and lower the dumping mechanism. You will consistently operate equipment in a safe manner, applying established safety rules and regulations to minimize minor violations and to avoid major violations due to employee error or negligence. You will adhere to safety and security procedures and regulations and promptly reports and observed or identified violations in accordance with the established guidelines. You will work in compliance with specifications, completed with specified time frames, and meets customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
