This job opportunity is for an SAFETY SPECIALIST, position description T5317000, within the NJ SAAO JBMDL of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is Title 5. This position has overall responsibility for a fully developed safety program and advises key managerial and executive personnel on courses of action that will achieve mission goals with a minimum risk of injury to personnel and damage to property.

Qualifications

General Experience: All GS-0018 series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have a minimum of one-year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level. Knowledge of Aviation safety inspections, Army Readiness Management Survey, and Aviation safety procedures knowledge. Preferred GFEBS knowledge, Preferred current Fiscal Law certificate. (please attach to job). Preferred familiarity with credit card and billing official roles and responsibilities knowledge. Specialized Experience: Perform periodic/unscheduled inspection of base facilities, warehouses, and equipment maintenance operations and evaluate compliance with applicable regulations and hazard system. Recommended measures and methods to correct safety and occupational health deficiencies. Participate in planning for testing of munitions, and assured integration of explosive safety criteria in testing procedures. Reviewed test implementation directives for inclusion of appropriate safety criteria. Prepared supplements to regulations and manuals for aircraft weapons safety and developed local regulations defining applicable mishap prevention procedures.
