About the Position: Serves as Lead Staffing Specialist providing advisory services to the Division/Branch Chief, Director/Deputy Director, supervisors, senior leaders, management officials, and commanders of a Civilian Human Resource Service Center.

Duties

Distributes team assignments among team members in accordance with workflow, skill level, and specialization. Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work to ensure objectives are met. Analyzes staffing trends and forecasts changes in workforce requirements that will meet future mission demands. Develops and implements workforce reshaping or downsizing exercises. Serves as staff action officer for special programs in the Civilian Human Resource Service Center. Assists the Director/Deputy Director in developing and monitoring Review and Analysis data. Conducts staff assistance visits to evaluate the effectiveness of operating programs and consistency with prescribed policies and practices.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Providing advisory services to the senior leaders, management officials, and commanders of a Civilian Human Resource Service Center) 2) Experience leading Civilian Human Resource projects or initiatives; 3) Analyzing civilian human resources problems or issues to recommend appropriate courses of action or solutions; AND 4) Utilizing automated civilian human resources systems to query, retrieve, evaluate and/or analyze data to recommend solutions to civilian personnel problems or issues.
