The Academy, one of the five Federal Academies, is a degree granting institution fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Upon graduation, the Midshipmen (Male and Female) are awarded Bachelor of Science degrees, licensed as Merchant Marine Officers by the U.S. Coast Guard, and commissioned as Officers in the U.S. naval Reserve.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.
To qualify for the Physics (Assistant Professor)on Experience, you must have:
A minimum of one year full-time (or equivalent) experience teaching freshman-level, calculus-based Physics courses in a college or university, other than as part of a teaching assistantship.
Experience in experimental and nuclear physics is preferred.
You cannot qualify for this position on Education alone, you must have experience.

Education
Minimum Educational Requirement: To qualify for the Physics (Assistant Professor) position you must possess a Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in Physics or a closely related physics field including, but not limited to, Astrophysics or Applied Physics.
