You will serve as a Housing Management Specialist within MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will develop survey reports, coordinate findings with other Housing Specialists, and prepare recommendations for improvement or correction of deficient project activities. You will recommend or implement appropriate corrective measures in areas such as maintenance, repairs, assignments, furnishings, and/or equipment. You will submit maintenance work requests, coordinate access for Facilities Maintenance to areas needing repairs, and follow up to verify work has been completed. You will liaison with Unaccompanied Housing (UH) tenants and tenant organizations, representatives from other agencies, maintenance contractor personnel, vendor representatives, and other personnel to ensure project requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position is considered Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of an evacuation order or some other type of military crisis.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying knowledge of the fundamental principles, operation, and efficient utilization of government quarters/facilities. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Conducting inspections and audits to identify project deficiencies; 2) Utilizing knowledge of project planning requirements and skill to develop recommendations and justification for organizational activities; and 3) Determining the impact of repairs, improvements, or other corrective measures. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
