About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQ US Army Forces Command, OG2 G2X Division, Fort Liberty, NC 28310.
Duties
Serves as the Information Security (INFOSEC) specialist responsible for authoritative information and service for the INFOSEC Program.
Provides technical advice and assistance a comprehensive security program as defined by the AR 380 series.
Interprets higher-level guidance, promulgates implementing directives/guidance, and security regulations.
Oversees properly markings, effect downgrading /declassification as well as assisting classification problems.
Assists Special Security Office (SSO) in management of the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication System (JWICS).
Validates IAVA/SCAP/STIGs to Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include Access Control, Intrusion Detection and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV).
Addresses problems: System risk/ incidents, configures, troubleshoots, etc., with hardware/software and network server.
Produces and manages artifacts for equipment accreditation in automated certification and accreditation system (EMASS) for ESS.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 15% of the time.
- May be required to work overtime/irregular schedules or extended hours due to exercises, national special security events, or during national security crises.
- This position requires obtaining the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within first two years of employment.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience: One year of experience equivalent to the GG/GS-09 at the professional category grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Assisting in developing, establishing, implementing, and/or monitoring policies, procedures, instructions, control systems or methods to prevent the compromise or loss of classified defense information and/or material. 2) Providing implementation and technical security support for Electronic Security Systems.
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

To substitute education for the required experience for the GG-11 grade level, applicant must have a closely related (CR) Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
