This position is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) with (1) vacancy located in Boulder, CO.

Duties
The working title for this position is Senior Software Developer. As a Senior Software Developer, you will perform the following duties:
Plan software development along with analyze, evaluate, and integrate various hardware, software or computer related systems.
Oversee, guide, evaluate and perform equipment and software development and installation to ensure successful transition into active use.
Interact with software development partners, other offices or organizations, or other coworkers to define computer programming application requirements, integrate and transition computer software components, and respond to and resolve software, hardware or systems issues.
Provide solutions to address ongoing issues, specific requirements, or meet needs according to specific situations by adapting computer methods and drafting technical documents to develop or design application,
Qualifications

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify for the GS-13 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Develop application software and integrate that software into an operational environment.
Evaluate and provide resolution to software, hardware and system issues.
