Duties

This position require military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG) Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete an online Onboarding process.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e. Airman, civilian, active-duty Soldier, prior service, guard member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the Recruiting and Retention (R&R) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2015 or 2008 and request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRARNG, your application will not be screened. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. Area 1 = All permanent Officers, Warrant Officers and Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 2 = All indefinite Officers, Warrant Officers and Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 3 = Officers, Warrant Officers and Enlisted members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. DUTIES: As a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (D0878P01), GS-2003-11, you will plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage all command supply and services functions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is sedentary and accomplished while the employee is comfortably seated. Walking and standing may occur in connection with attendance at meetings and conferences or while researching information. Items carried typically are light objects such as briefcases, notebooks and reports. No special physical effort is required. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess more than TWELVE (12) months at the next lower lever GS-09 or the equivalent THIRTY-SIX (36) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as planning, organizing, and managing supply and services functions; formulating and implementing command supply operating procedures and policies; ensuring unit responsibilities for receipting and accounting of equipment and supplies; developing and managing the state logistics contingency stockage plan; implementing the Supply Excellence Award Program; administering and serving as the focal point of the commanding equipment loan program within the state ARNG; advising the DOL Logistics Management Officer (LMO); collecting and consolidating data for areas in which operations are anticipated; developing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of the Command Supply Discipline Program; providing guidance on interpretation of directives and assists units, organizations and activities; managing the command property program within units of the state; maintaining current command supply analysis; directing actions for undesirable supply conditions, practices and policy in the command; managing, controlling, analyzing and recommending corrective action for property losses in the command; preparing and reviewing budget estimates for the command supply and services functions; monitoring required unit equipment inventories and is actives.

Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in fields listed below leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
