This position is located in the Stillwater State office in USDA/Rural Development (RD). The incumbent will serve as a Management Assistant in the State Office of Rural Development (RD).
This position is not remote or virtual. The selectee will be expected to report in person to the assigned duty location.
Duties
Maintains a wide variety of complex substantive records, e.g., of office productivity, project status, costs/expenditures, etc.
Using a standard computer keyboard, prepares a wide range of complex documents, including spreadsheets, briefings, and correspondence, in final form.
Performs operator maintenance on office machines, including printers, copiers, etc. Serves as office point of contact for problems.
May be required to update staff time and attendance and leave records, answer questions or prepare reports on leave usage, and perform related work.
Uses initiative to search records and insert subject matter data from a wide range of source material, e.g., hard-copy records, databases used by the staff, prior reports, etc.
Will be responsible for answering the phones for the State Office.
Performs general office clerical and assistance functions.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
GS-5: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Skills in planning and managing the office's daily administrative functions, maintaining automated systems to record, reconcile, validate, and track data; gathering and compiling available data and information for aspects of a program and reports findings to a higher level employee; monitoring and reviewing established administrative procedures and program operations and assisting in the preparation of memoranda, reports and charts; using word processing, spreadsheet and database software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data. OR 4 full years of education above high school. Equivalent combination of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
GS-06: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience planning and managing the office's daily administrative functions, maintaining automated systems to record, reconcile, validate, and track data; experience gathering and compiling available data and information for aspects of a program and reports findings to a higher level employee; and experience monitoring and reviewing established administrative procedures and program operations and assisting in the preparation of memoranda, reports and charts; using word processing, spreadsheet and database software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data.
There is no substitution of education at this grade level.
