Duties

You will prepare long range, quarterly and monthly training plans in Crime Prevention, Security Watch, Physical Security, and Information Security. You will conduct physical security surveys, inspections, and audits. You will conduct long and short term investigations when solutions cannot be achieved during the course if a normal patrol shift. You will evaluate crime prevention programs and recommend changes to reduce opportunities for theft, illegal entry or other kinds of violations. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. You will develop performance standards of subordinates.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. You must be willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Protection of personnel and property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, and trespass; and maintaining order and protecting life.
