About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Administers the installations overall budgetary management system. Emphasizes and explains budget limitations, program requirements, and directives. Analyzes program and budget guidance and instructions from higher headquarters to determine impact on installation operations. Provides budgetary and technical leadership for the development of cost estimates associated with long range multi-year studies. Analyzes trends in fund utilization and prepares periodic installation cost and performance reports to compare actual with forecasts. Serves as Chief, Program and Budget Division, with responsibility for programming, budgeting, controlling, and administering the use of appropriated funds. Supervises a group of employees engaged in garrison budget development and execution functions. Distributes work, provides technical and administrative guidance, and reviews completed assignments of subordinate staff.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 3 Certified position designated. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
