This National Guard position is for a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER, Position Description Number D1143000 and is part of the PA Army Aviation Support Facility 2, National Guard.

Duties
As a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER, WG-5413-08, you will refuel rotary and fixed-wing aircraft using hot and cold refueling methods. Transfer fuel from bulk tanks to aircraft refuel vehicles and other customers by operating pumps and accessory equipment. Provide transient alert assistance and marshalling services. Direct aircraft to designated parking areas and refuel/defuel points using proper hand, arm, and wand signals. Perform administrative tasks in support of the Fuel Distribution System Worker Supervisor including preparing reports, correspondence, logs, and other documents. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have progressively responsible experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate 12 months experience in ensuring that fuel quantities for both air and ground vehicles are on hand to meet requirements and needed stock is obtained from proper locations; ensuring quality of aviation-grade fuel by sampling fuel, checking filter separators, inspecting tanks for water and sediment, and interpreting results; and/or keeping accurate records of gage and scale readings to insure correct volume and accountability.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
