This position is located in the Domestic Relations Branch (DRB) of the Family Court Operations Division of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The work involves supervision of the DRB section, which assists in the effective accomplishment of the mission of adjudicating cases involving divorce, custody, visitation, standby guardianship, foreign judgments and subpoenas, adoptions, and the accurate and secure maintenance of records resulting from these activities.

- A background and/or security investigation is required.
- A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A High School Diploma and six (6) years of administrative experience in a court, legal setting, judicial or law agency plus at least one (1) year of experience as a supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the Family Court Act of 2001, Superior Court Rules, policies, procedures and, in particular, the rules of the Family and Civil Courts as well as a working knowledge of the relevant provisions of the District of Columbia Code and federal regulations governing the processing of domestic relations matters.
Knowledge of Domestic Relations case flow, codes, and documents.
Education Substitution:
A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of administrative experience in a court, legal setting, judicial or law agency plus at least one (1) year of experience as a supervisor.
A Masters degree and one (1) year of administrative experience in a court, legal setting, judicial or law agency plus at least one (1) year of experience as a supervisor.
Graduation from the DC Court's Management Training Program may be substituted for one (1) year of supervisory experience. You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. copy of certificate) with your application.Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts are required. If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.
