You will serve as a FACILITY SERVICE ASSISTANT (OA) in the S4 DEPARTMENT, Public Works Division, Administrative Branch, Maintenance Control Section of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will ensure the work or services requested are not previously incorporated in USMCmax, not a duplicate of previously approved or disapproved work or if work is scheduled to already be accomplished by BOS contractor. You will control the processing of inspection reports, specific job orders, standing job orders and emergency/service work. You will constantly liaisons with customers to keep them abreast of work request/work status. You will monitor and evaluate work performance standards for emergency/service work authorizations and identifies trends or problem areas related to such work authorizations. You will use various maintenance management systems, sufficient to input, extract and compile technical data from USMCmax. You will function as an Assistant Systems Administrator for USMCmax which includes granting access and access levels to approximately 100 users on the USMCmax system. You will determine proper work order classifications per USMCmax and BOS Contract. You will communicate with all levels of personnel to explain, justify and defend construction and maintenance inspection, planning and execution policies, especially to irate individuals.

  • Must obtain and maintain a current valid state driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication for a Tier 1 background investigation.

Qualifications

TYPING REQUIREMENT: You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of SPECILAIZED EXPERIENCE at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position such as: Overseeing and managing the screening, classification and recording of incoming work requests the organizations/departments, units which number approximately 8,000+ annually; Soliciting and interpreting customer phone calls and/or written requests-technical information to correctly interpret work - required to allow the Base Operations Support (BOS) Contractor to efficiently/effectively get work accomplishment; Using/operating various types of computer software applications/operating systems, (e.g., USMCmax, Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook programming), to compile, produce/maintain a variety of information and reports in support of the maintenance operations; Reading and interpreting specific job/contract instructions as required to properly forward and monitor work, ensuring prompt action and a constant work flow in relation to Public Works, Facility Engineering & Acquisition Division (FEAD) sections or individual responsibilities; Utilizing grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting to ensure accuracy and correctness of rough drafts are transposed into final typed material ready for executive signature for a variety of correspondence; AND Organizing and maintaining files containing comprehensive and clerical data to ensure a maintenance program can be implemented, scheduled, controlled, monitored and managed by the employee and other management personnel.
