About the Position: Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230. DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights. This position is located at SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, HONOLULU, HI. You will work in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional measurements to the transfer level calibration, certification and evaluation of test, measurement, and equipment.

Duties

Calibrating test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Troubleshooting and repairing TMDE. Collecting and analyzing calibration data. Implementing, modifying and developing technical procedures. Utilizing automated systems to document test results and preparing reports

Requirements

• One year trial/probationary period may be required.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
• You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

• Temporary duty assignment (TDY) will be required 10% of work time.
• This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance for the duration of appointment.
• Must be able to lift, carry and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
• The work of this position is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
