You will serve as a TEST MECHANIC (ALAD) in the NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIV of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.
Duties
You will instruct, teach, lead, mentor and guide other employees for task completion.
You will make quality labor hour estimates and sound judgments as to material required for Test Programs involving various ALRE/ SE systems
You will require knowledge of multiple positions, including other trades, at these testing locations along with proper communication skills while testing.
You will be responsible for the satisfactory performance of all tasks assigned to the group
You will operate at various Test site locations. Job qualification requirement (JQR) qualified to safely operate and train at the testing locations to include Jet Car Testing Site test tracks; Launch end/recovery end and Emals/Steam catapult site
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1. Working alone or with others during Test Site operations and demonstrate proper work methods during installation, overhaul and maintenance of ALRE and SE systems, as well as setting pace in accomplishing assigned tasks within the time frame allowed. 2. Advising other workers of the group to follow instructions received from superiors to meet deadlines. 3. Assuring that safety and housekeeping rules are followed and reporting to the supervisor and team leader on status and progress of work, causes of work delays, and hours required. 4. Interpreting and reading blueprints, schematic drawings, and specifications to perform maintenance on ALRE/SE Systems and gather all necessary materials and tools; 5. Anticipating problems and making recommendations for the solution. 6. Providing labor hours and material requirement estimates for ALRE/SE prototype manufacture and installations. 7. Performing and/or assisting jobs normally assigned to other trades at the intermediate level such as: Pipefitter, Welder, Electrician, or Metal Fabricator. 8. Operates at various Test site locations.
