About the Position: Serves as Programs Operations Specialist for the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS), Plans, Operations, Emergency Management, and Mobilization (POEMM) Division performing a range of range of administrative and analytical duties in the formulation, presentation, and execution of the Army's Protection Programs. Position is located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Duties
Review higher headquarters orders and policies to determine operational and training requirements.
Provide coordination and standardization of operations in military protection programs.
Provide technical advice and guidance to staff sections and subordinate units regarding plans and programs.
Develop and prepare Operations Orders, Fragmentary Orders, Memorandums of Instruction, staffing papers, briefings, reports on decisions, and comprehensive standard operating procedures to ensure communication of command objectives and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Mission Essential position. The incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander/Supervisor.
- The duties for this position require shift work and/or rotating shifts.
- Employee will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Employees will periodically be required to be on-call.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position may require travel up to 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience 1;) Assisting with the development of standard operating procedures for program implementation, 2;) Preparing concise written documents to communicate action items to personnel, and 3;) Reviewing policies and correspondence to identify training needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Management, Business administration, Operations Management, etc.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
