The Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Executive Officer for Visitor Services, Marketing and Communications Division is seeking a Special Events Coordinator to coordinate the scheduling and presentation of special events at the Capitol Visitors Center (CVC). This position will be supervised by the Special Events Manager. Duties may be performed outside of regular working hours to fulfill the business needs of the organization.
Duties
The Capitol Visitor Center is seeking an experienced professional to advise and receive requests to use the CVC as a venue for special events. The person in this position will schedule, design and make necessary arrangements for the event, while showcasing audiovisual and catering services. As a vital member of the team, the Special Events Coordinator will work with the organizations’ representative to provide guidelines on the use of CVC spaces for such events.

Candidates for the GS-09 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience with organizational skills and management of multiple projects with competing deadlines;
Experience with meeting and event planning principles, requirements, protocols, procedures and resources; and
Experience using tact and professionalism in communicating with all levels of clients, co-workers, and subordinates.
