The National Intelligence University (NIU) is the Intelligence Community's sole accredited, federal degree-granting institution. It serves as the intellectual hub for the intelligence profession, preparing today's leaders for tomorrow's challenges.
Duties
Incumbent serves on the National Intelligence University faculty within the National Intelligence and Security Enterprise (NISE) Department, focused on teaching core and elective courses, and conducting research in his/her area of expertise.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, deliver, and assess strategic and predictive intelligence education for Intelligence Community leadership and resource management related courses.
Serve as a thesis committee member for student research.
Engage with the Intelligence Community to bring the most current issues in intelligence to the classroom.
Participate in outreach activities to broaden IC and academic visibility of NIU.
Publish original research in peer reviewed journals or other professional outlets.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the United States
- Appointment is subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI)
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- A two-year trial period is required for all new permanent appointments to the ODNI.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
Successful completion of a full course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a Master's Degree that included or was supplemented by a major study (thesis) or work experience in a subject matter appropriate to this position.
Detailed knowledge of the leading leadership, management, and resource management theories and frameworks which can be used to understand problems that shape the strategic security environment.
Experience teaching at the graduate school level and/or presenting analysis to senior policymakers.
Expert oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner that is targeted to, and meets the needs of, diverse audiences with different perspectives and objectives.
Desired Requirements:
Successful completion of a full course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a Doctorate in international affairs, regional studies, social science, or other related field.
Experience with Intelligence Community collections, analysis, and/or operations.
Experience with academic course and program development, including the creation and evaluation of academic assessment data and standards.
Education
Master's Degree.
