Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 2 years by a current permanent Army Employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a TERM appointment not to exceed 2 years, if candidate is NOT a current permanent Army employee. TERM appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
Duties
Researches, coordinates, and prepares programs of instruction (POIs) for expeditionary civilians throughout Department of Defense and Department of Army.
Delivers professional quality instruction through lecture conferences, guided discussions, practical exercises, case studies, and seminars.
Develops and implements solutions to problems which affect AECW training requirements, policies, and regulations.
Anticipates changes and new developments in technology and develops advance plans to insure timely introduction of new or revised procedures, techniques, or operational concepts into the training program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- May require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 15% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which demonstrates a practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of instruction; experience teaching or instructing adult level courses; designing courseware/curriculum for an adult education learning environment; performing research on emerging technologies, content and instructional delivery methods. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
