About the Position: : Serve as the supervisor of the Special Equipment Branch (SEB) Warehouse Section. Oversee the supply requisition, receipt, storage and inventory accountability for items necessary for the operation applying knowledge of the materials used, the warehousing facilities, storage requirements, property accountability, inventory procedures, hazardous materials handling, and an extensive technical knowledge of the Federal Supply System.

Duties

Plan and assign work based on priorities, requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees. Evaluate performance of subordinate employees. Develop and coordinate the processing of requisitions utilizing automatic data processing equipment and programs. Investigate erroneous processes in the programs, recommend corrective actions, assist and coordinates the courses of action among customers and various elements to prevent recurrence. Coordinate with other organizations/agencies for obtaining excess material supplies equipment that can be repurposed at no cost or minimal cost. Trace acquisition sources and methods and follow up through delivery, issuance, and disposal.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position meets the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing.
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is a Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a driver’s license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a military licensing for various trucks, forklifts, and shipping vehicles.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in any major field of study which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Physical Demands Work is normally performed in a warehouse or an office environment. The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders, and operating of material handling equipment. Frequent travel to/from warehouse and to off-sites for equipment/supply pick-up as required. Work Environment Most of the work is performed in a normal office setting, which is well lighted, heated and/or air conditioned. The work involved in warehouse environments exposes the employee to moderate discomfort such as high levels of noise, high temperatures, or adverse weather conditions at open storage sites. When reviewing work concerned with hazardous materials storage, the employee may be required to wear protective clothing or gear, which may be hot and uncomfortable. Also be expected to travel to remote training sites to manage equipment and supplies at those locations. Occasional field visits may expose the employee to unusual working conditions.
