You will serve as a EDUCATION SPECIALIST in the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the National Capital Consortium (NCC) of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.
Duties
You will plan and coordinate specific support requirements for Graduate Medical Education (GME) medical specialty areas which include various post graduate resident and fellowship programs.
You will review and evaluate GME programs, including: administrative policies and procedures, curricula, and qualifications of staff and faculty.
You will critique and formulate competency-based goals and objectives at each educational level and measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the total GME residency or fellowship program.
You will manage all aspects of the National Capital Consortium Program Director search process.
You will advise Executive Director and Chair of the Hearing Subcommittee, Legal Advisor and NCC Board of Directors.
You will analyze GME adverse action outcomes and prepare and disseminate reports of academic actions to the Surgeons General to ensure timely adjustment of obligated service as required.
You will advise key officials, committee and board members, and military and civilian program managers on all aspects of policy, planning, review, and research as related to Program Director recruitment.
You will develop innovative and effective methods for education or training program improvements or recommend appropriate policy revisions.
You will provide administrative support for the NCC Hearing Subcommittee, to include coordinating meetings, preparing meeting minutes, updating training files and communicating outcome data to higher authorities.
You will ensure integrity, accuracy, and security of all adverse academic records of current and former students; while building secure student data files and setting policy and procedures for their responsible use.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing education program data, curriculum, or processes to determine solutions or improve an academic program.

- Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. OR
- Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above.
