Duty Location: Redding, California
Duties
-Serves as a Training Coordinator in the Northern California Area Office (NCAO) and reports to the NCAO Administrative Officer.
-Works with customers to establish training priorities, schedule training, resolve scheduling conflicts, and coordinate training resources.
-Represents NCAO for all training coordination with the Region, Reclamation, and Department.
-Disseminates guidance and training information, and coordinates with staff to synchronize resources for all training at NCAO.
-Assists with developing training plans and programs, as well as coordinating established training plans and programs for NCAO.
-Works with managers to advise and provide guidance for implementation of training and to improve training.
-Maintains and coordinates resources for courses conducted at NCAO.
-Assists personnel to enable attendance at critical training courses and maintains records of attendance and completion.
-Establishes and recommends training classes and programs for the organization, considering training directives and materials issued by Regional Office, Denver, and the Department of Interior (DOI).
-Maintains awareness of course purpose and any prerequisites; training locations, equipment, material requirements, and obligatory course progression sequence.
-Conducts continuous evaluation of training programs at NCAO to ensure compliance through analysis of reported information.
-Develops and recommends procedural guidance for the efficient administration of training activities.
Qualifications
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-07, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-06 level in federal service having demonstrated experience which includes working with customers to establish training priorities, schedule training, resolving scheduling conflicts, and coordinate training resources.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.
