Duties

You will oversee all aspects of the planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integrated prevention programs at the installation, command, and/or unit level. You will implement prevention assessments and evaluations to ensure leaders at all levels of the organization have the knowledge, skills and abilities to address gaps and promote the well-being of team members, leaders, and the larger organization. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of assignment difficulty and requirements, and the employee’s capabilities, and privileging status. You will interpret program and climate assessments and identify prevention program goals, objectives, measures of performance, and effectiveness, assessments, and milestones. You will ensure identification of existing or potential risk factors that can lead to problematic/destructive behaviors and recommend preventive measures that the installation, command, or unit can take to address risk and protective factors. You will direct program evaluation efforts that require the application of analytical techniques and statistical methods to determine program impacts on critical readiness outcomes.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties:. Evaluating/assessing prevention programs to promote healthy climates and address problematic/destructive behaviors, including, but not limited to, suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, and military equal opportunity; Identifying needs, trends, and performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for process improvements; and Leading collaborative efforts with diverse internal and external stakeholders and fostering buy-in for crosscutting efforts to include senior leader support and advocacy. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
