About the Position: Serves as a Medal Assembler and Examiner with U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC), Soldier Readiness and Sustainment Director, Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP), Clothing and Heraldry, Product Support Integration Directorate (C&HOSID). TERM position not to exceed 13 months. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. This term appointment may not be made permanent from this announcement.

Duties

Selects, examines, and assembles awards and components. Working from daily batches of awards authorization, or other information provided, selects specified medals, components, badges, bars, etc. Examines medals selected for issue to ensure that engraved information coincides with authorization and for accuracy, clarity, and uniformity of engraving; uses magnifying glass as required. Assures that quantity and types of items being packaged correspond with authorization documents. Performs final packaging, sealing with gummed tape, prepares for mailing and forwards to mail room.

Qualifications

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) MEDAL ASSEMBLER & EXAMINER~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Medal Assembler & Examiner duties. I can (1) verify condition of incoming stock; (2) select, assemble, attach, and package items; and (3) using hand tools such as screwdrivers and pliers. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
