You will serve as a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Joint Mission Operations Center of U S MARINE FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND.

Duties

You will be responsible for maintaining records, duty logs, required infrastructure checks, and ensuring workstations are set up properly for operations. You will coordinate with all entities/adjacent organizations to ensure external operational requirements are authorized and available for use during rehearsals and/or operations. You will manage infrastructure resources as required for operations in support of approved concepts of operations and/or Cyber Tasking Orders.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must possess and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance and must obtain and maintain NSA badging for NIPR/SIPR/NSANet accounts.
  • A Counterintelligence Polygraph is required, and a non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Failure to retain this level of security clearance and access will be grounds for reassignment, demotion, or removal from the Federal Service
  • Employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
  • CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, Program Management Professional (PMP) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications are highly desired.
  • The incumbent may be required to perform occasional travel (25% or less) which may involve the use of commercial and/or government aircraft.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is not telework eligible.

Qualifications

You are required to have information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include recognizing information gaps and then quickly fill those gaps by asking the appropriate stakeholder or subject matter experts the appropriate questions, all in order to make better informed decisions. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include maintaining positive communications with key personnel involved in the execution of operations. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include conducting daily synchronization meetings to key leadership 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include coordinating with all entities/adjacent organizations to ensure external operational requirements are authorized and available for use during rehearsals and/or operations. In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you are required to have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by evaluating the risk each operation poses to infrastructure and using information collected from a variety of computer network defense resources to identify, analyze, and report events that occur or might occur within their environment.
