This INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN is located in the Office of the State Surgeon, Deputy State Surgeon, Occupational Health Office, Joint Force Headquarters-State and is part of the CA JFHQ Safety.

Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN, GS-0640-9, is to plan, schedule, execute, manage and administer the ARNG Industrial Hygiene Program for a state, territory, or district to maintain and promote the health of military and technician personnel. Coordinates with the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Regional Industrial Hygienist (IH) who works for the NGB Office of the Chief Surgeon.

Qualifications

INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN, GS-0640-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-08 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience with basic biological and physical sciences; preventive medicine; fundamentals of microbiology; chemistry; anatomy; physiology; and pathology of the human body; Experience with limited paraprofessional examinations; medical entomology programs; food science and technology; food handler training; food and water safety and defense principles; food inspection; laboratory procedures; sanitary evaluations; and public facility sanitation; Experience in regard to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), mandated occupational health education and training programs, and the applicable Department of Defense Instructions (DODI).
