About the Position: This position is located at Headquarters, U.S. Army Material Command, G-3 for Operations, Strategy, Concepts & Capabilities Directorate, Capabilities Integration Division, Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Duties

Provide G-3 representation and functional support on various strategic work groups that are involved with developing and executing strategic planning and reengineering functions that are multi-disciplined and cross Command boundaries. Integrate and prioritize the strategic planning, concept development and life-cycle management resources in response to Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES) activities. Utilize expert knowledge in developing and interpreting guidance on program planning and evaluation across all of Army Material Command (AMC's) core competencies related to Army acquisition. Identify, verify and assess causes and methods to resolve specially designated problem areas, or policy impediments that affect strategic planning and life-cycle management, in support of the Army leadership vision and initiatives. Provide recommendations, advice, and counsel to General Officers and Senior Executives concerning major decisions and potential changes in program direction.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• Acquisition certification, Life Cycle Logistics, Advanced within 4 years.
• Obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
