About the Position: This position is located in the Programs and Project Management Division with the US Army Corp of Engineers, New England District. Located in Concord, Massachusetts, this position leads a team of 8 Project Managers working on a wide variety of design and construction projects supporting our coastal navigation ports and harbors, providing flood risk management solutions across New England, and supporting other Federal agency partners with their design and construction needs.
Duties
Serves as the Civil Works Project Management Branch Chief in the Programs and Project Management Division (PPMD), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), New England District (NAE).
Directs programs under the direction of the Deputy, establishing management and organizational plans, policies, and/or programs as they relate to Corps' Civil Works and IIS program/project management activities.
Provides technical and managerial determinations for final recommendations by the DDE/PM to the NAE District Commander.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year supervisory probationary unless previously completed.
- PCS may be authorized.

- Overnight business travel may be required up to 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Programs and Project Management and/or planning, design, construction, operations, resource management programs; 2) experience directing a group of employees responsible for program management processes or initiatives; and 3) providing financial, technical and/or acquisition oversight of projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
