The primary purpose of this position is to support the Air force Office of Special Investigation's (AFOSI)/DoD Cyber Crime Center (DC3) counterintelligence mission with data mining analysis.

Duties
Manages complex counterintelligence related data mining projects and coordinates the work of data mining engineers to extract, transfer, prepare, process, and exploit large data repositories for counterintelligence analysis initiatives.
Conducts focused analysis of especially complex and unusual issues in support of AFOSI/DC3 counterintelligence investigations and operations in order to evaluate the significance of the information collected, extract and further disseminate relevant counterintelligence and threat information, identify operational opportunities and leads, provide guidance to case agents, and coordinate actions within the intelligence and law enforcement communities.
Represents AFOSI/DC3 as a recognized subject matter expert on the organization, personnel, activities, and capabilities of intelligence entities that pose a threat to the USAF.
Establishes and maintains a current series of liaison contacts with DoD and national-level agencies as a recognized authority in the field of counterintelligence.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Position is designated special sensitive and incumbent requires a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.

- Incumbent is required to undergo a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination.
- Overtime may be required as workload demands and in some cases with no notice due to urgency of time sensitive matters. Periodic shift work may be required if assigned as a watch-standing analyst.

- Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement.
- Significant experience with specialized technical tools for the exploitation of large disparate sets of data, is desired.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- While conducting required coordination with AFOSI/DC3 field units and national-level counterparts, incumbent will frequently be required to travel, by vehicle, throughout the metropolitan Washington DC area.
- Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyance in accordance with Joint Travel regulations may be required in performance of temporary duty.
- Incumbent will occasionally be required on temporary duty throughout the world including to remote locations with limited facilities. These temporary duty assignments could range from short duration to 179 days, and longer.
- White every effort will be made to schedule these assignments wen in advance of the travel, travel may be required with extremely limited notice. It is imperative incumbent have an unlimited ability to perform such travel.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the 13-grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of counterintelligence collections, operations, investigations, and analysis as well as a wide range of concepts governing the DoD counterintelligence mission and the relation of AFOSI/DC3 's counterintelligence program to the DoD counterintelligence mission and national intelligence objectives. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
I . Knowledge of the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in various regions of the world as well as foreign intelligence threat entitles, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD and other US resources.
2 . .Knowledge of US intelligence community policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence research planning, operations collection, target analysis. and other intelligence collection related activities.
3, Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodologies of intelligence analysis and research to include link analysis and database manipulation.
4..Skill in producing finished intelligence reports and other products that are responsive to the specific needs of customers to include formulating and conducting original research; collating, organizing, and analyzing information; resolving conflicts; and presenting clear and concise findings.
5. Skill in handling classified data in accordance with established DoD procedures.
6.Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data and render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implications of such data; to make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment, experience and recognized professional standing; and to present and argue for a position effectively.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
