A successful candidate in this position will support the execution and synchronization of the Office of Secure Transportation (OST) Intelligence cycle, Counter-Intelligence, and Counter-terrorism programs and activities that have a direct impact on NNSA's nuclear material transportation missions.

Duties

As an Intelligence Operations Specialist at the NQ-03 level, you will: - Analyzes and supports an integrated and synchronized process involving Domestic Threat Assessment, Intelligence, Counterterrorism, and other classified and unclassified (Open Source and Law Enforcement Sensitive) information. -Duties include utilizing a wide variety of research sources to develop an intelligence base of information from which to draw inferences and summaries. -Prepare reports, assessments, material for publications, statistical summaries and other material concerning the direct support of mission operations. -Prepare technical guidelines and procedures for internal use and for user organizations. -Grasp conceptual ideas, research unusual events, and draw sound conclusions to present to management. -Plans and/or supports threat assessments, incident assessment and awareness, requirements for support from the Intelligence Community, and support efforts related to CONUS (Contiguous United States) DoD activities. -Routinely works with the highest level of classified and other sensitive information. -Uses a variety of MS Office Products to gather information, conduct analyses, produce reports and other tasks. -Maintains contact with senior NNSA management, contractors, and other Federal, military, state, and tribal agencies, in the execution, evaluation, review, and ratification of intelligence, counterintelligence and counterterrorism activities.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS for NQ-3A qualified candidate must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band or GS grade level in the Federal Service i.e., NV-03, NQ-02 or GS-12. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: previous experience as a Federal Agent, having successfully conducted OST mission operations and served as a tactical team leader for federal agent teams under emergency conditions, or led a team in tactical exercises for operational readiness teams or Unit training events. Examples of Specialized Experience: - Responsible for the safeguards and security of classified shipments and public safety on a convoy. - Directed shipment operations and ensured that all Federal and State laws, NNSA Orders, and mission requirements were complied with and enforced. - Conducted a mobile unit tactical plan. - Conducted pre-trip equipment checks (vehicle and personnel). "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must meet all of the requirements as described in this section. If you are eligible for career transition assistance plans such as ICTAP or CTAP, you must meet the definition of "well qualified" which is defined as having a score of 85 or better. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
