About the Position: This is a Training Technician (Office Automation), GS-1702-05, position with US Army Training and Doctrine Command, Training Division located in Fort Novosel, Alabama.
This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 36 months position. It is time limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
Duties
Provides technical assistance throughout the Faculty and Staff Branch by compiling and consolidating information/data to finalize training development reports.
Provides guidance to students, training activities and other organizational elements concerning availability of course quotas, training schedules, and requirements for course attendance.
Assists the Manager with administrative duties associated with the program, but not limited to winner certificates, notification emails, review/update of narration, update and staffing of tasker, and assisting in the ceremony.
Prepares course completion documents for all Training Division courses.
Controls input to data base of both official student records and instructor evaluation records.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions. 2) Use office automation systems to maintain records. AND 3) Perform administrative duties preparing correspondence using proper format. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
