About the Position: This position is located at the National Guard Bureau ARNG Support Activity, MEPS GC SEC (+W39LAA), Chicago, Illinois.
Duties
Confer with Military Entrance Processing Command (MEPCOM) and National Guard Bureau regarding current and future workloads.
Provide direction on the execution of policies affecting recruitment of new DA Civilian MEPS Guidance Counselor employees.
Oversee all applicant transactions at MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Command).
Provide expertise to recruiting commanders and their soldiers.
Ensure information pertaining to accessing applicants is disseminated to all MEPS stations.
Utilize all accession systems such as ARISS (Army Recruiting Information Support System), REQUEST (Recruit Quota System), GCRC (Guidance Counselor Resource Center) and MIRS (MEPCOM Integrated Resource System) as a MEPS Guidance Counselor.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes formulating performance standards; planning work to be accomplished by subordinates; mentoring staff in programs such as Army Recruiting Information Support System (ARISS), United States MEPCOM Integrated Resource System (MIRS), Recruit Quota System (REQUEST) or Point of Sale and Recruiter Zone (RZ); maintaining contact with recruiting and retention commanders; executing policies that affect retention of soldiers; conducting projects and/or studies to evaluate the efficiency of work operations in a program setting; developing new or modified work methods and organizational structures for budgetary systems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
