About the Position: This position is located at the National Guard Bureau ARNG Support Activity, MEPS GC SEC (+W39LAA), Chicago, Illinois.

Duties

Confer with Military Entrance Processing Command (MEPCOM) and National Guard Bureau regarding current and future workloads. Provide direction on the execution of policies affecting recruitment of new DA Civilian MEPS Guidance Counselor employees. Oversee all applicant transactions at MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Command). Provide expertise to recruiting commanders and their soldiers. Ensure information pertaining to accessing applicants is disseminated to all MEPS stations. Utilize all accession systems such as ARISS (Army Recruiting Information Support System), REQUEST (Recruit Quota System), GCRC (Guidance Counselor Resource Center) and MIRS (MEPCOM Integrated Resource System) as a MEPS Guidance Counselor.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Human Resources ManagementLeadershipPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
