You will serve as a Purchasing Agent in the Resources and Assessment Division and Supply Chain Management Branch of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Duties
You will confirm necessary information needed to support or complete purchase requests is gathered.
You will use a personal computer and computer software, including electronic acquisition software, to input purchase orders and procurement
information.
You will prepare a written solicitation for purchases in accordance with guidance (e.g., federal and agency regulations, internal operating
procedures).
You will determine the correct methods of purchase under current regulations from the Federal Supply Service, Defense Logistics Agency,
Indefinite Quality Contracts, or other government supported institutions.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and
services.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to
travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that
are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report,
OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Purchasing regulations, policies, procedures, and business practices in obtaining oral and written quotations for goods and services; 2) Issuing purchase orders for a wide variety of items; 3) Resolving or recommending solutions to problems (i.e. delays or damage to goods in shipment,poor quality or workmanship, substitutions, etc.); 4) Reviewing purchase request to ensure they are meet standards of Government Purchase Card program; 5) Analyzing descriptions provided by customers to determine if specifications or work statements are adequate; 6) Maintaining records for accountability of procured supplies, equipment and services.
