Duties

Major Duties The position is a Maintenance Worker for the Bluffs Sub-District of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The position is duty stationed in Laurel Springs, North Carolina (Alleghany County). The primary purpose of the position is to perform water utility maintenance and operation duties. Incumbent is engaged in performing a variety of complex repairs, maintenance, adjustments, modifications and preventative maintenance on facilities, equipment, and system. Area/Duty Station Information The Blue Ridge Parkway extends 469 miles along the crest of the southern Appalachian Mountains through North Carolina and Virginia between two eastern national parks - Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountains. Laurel Springs, North Carolina - The duty station is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Bluffs Maintenance Area, which is located near Laurel Springs, North Carolina. Laurel Springs is located approximately 10 miles from Sparta, North Carolina and approximately 15 miles from West Jefferson, North Carolina.
