About the Position:
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 5 years by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a temporary appointment not to exceed 3 years, if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
Duties
Use office automation systems, record meeting minutes, produce reports, forms, briefings, graphs, and spreadsheets.
Review outgoing correspondences and materials for grammar and format- and advise on policies and procedures governing administrative matters.
Maintain calendars, schedule appointments with high level customers, prepare agendas, handouts, etc. for meetings.
Establish and maintain administrative files and records, reviews incoming mail and compile information for reply responses.
Receive calls, greet visitors, handle routine matters, and respond to non-technical requests for information and statuses and refers technical matters to appropriate personnel.

Specialized Experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Receiving visitors and callers and refer based on knowledge of the mission; 2) Controlling calendar and preparing material relevant to meetings; 3) Reviewing correspondences for proper format; 4) Establishing and maintaining files; AND 5) Advising subordinate clerical staff on administrative and office procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-05.
