About the Position: This position is located at Reynolds Army Health Clinic, Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Duties

Perform operator maintenance on equipment such as boiler, chillers, generators, electronic and pneumatic controls, auxiliary equipment, and safety devices. Use complex tools and equipment common to the trade such as multimeters, monometers, electronic leak detector, orsat, ampmeter, PH and TDS meters, inch gauges, wrenches, and screwdrivers to perform maintenance and repairs. Test water in various equipment systems for acidity, causticity, alkalinity, total dissolved solids, hardness and cycles of concentration. Virtually check equipment by observing control panels, meters, and charts. Attend a bank of electronic and pneumatic controls to operate total control of a central plant system. Disassemble various components to replaces gaskets, seals, bearing shafts, and other components. Determine cause of malfunctions to make necessary repairs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
  • This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).
  • This position requires a valid driver's license to operate up to and including 3/4 ton vehicle.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a boiler operator's license within first 6 months of employment.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Utility Systems Repairer-Operator without more than normal supervision: I have the ability to perform the common duties of a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator that includes interpreting information from a bank of control panels and meters, and using tools to make moderately complex repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Working Conditions - Works outside and inside in heat, cold, excessive humidity, excessive dampness or chilling weather. Works on concrete floors. Work is noisy, dirty, smoky, and involves exposures to fumes, gases, solvents, grease and oils. Works in areas where slippery or uneven walking surfaces are present including ladders or scaffolding. Exposed to cuts, bruises and falls from ladders. Works around machinery, objects, or vehicles with moving parts. Works in areas where silica or asbestos may be present.
