About the Position: This position is for the Administrative Support Assistant, GS-0303-05/06/07, with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth Real Estate Division. This position can be filled at the GS-05, or at the GS-06, or at the GS-07 full performance grade level. Promotion to the full performance grade level is at the discretion of management.

Duties

Monitor obligations and expenditures throughout the budget period. Assist the Branch Chief in personnel management activities by seeking and disseminating information from the CPAC, advising employees of requirements and application of regulations and personnel action procedures. Responsible for the procurement of equipment, materials, supplies and services necessary to support the Branch activities Assure that property is acquired, used and disposed in accordance with guidance and regulations. Plan, organize and maintain complete auditable record and file system for all Branch activities, administrative and operational, and reference materials. Compose correspondence or finalize drafts of reports, correspondence and other data assuring proper format, spelling, grammar and arrangement of material.

FOR GS-5: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of clerical duties to support an organization such recordkeeping, replenishing supplies, and replying to inquiries. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. FOR GS-6: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated office software to gather budgetary data, prepare reports, and coordinate travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. FOR GS-7: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing at least two out of the following two areas: 1) utilizing automated office software to gather budgetary data, prepare reports, time keeping, and coordinate travel arrangements. AND 2) monitoring organizations' procurement of supplies and services or accountability of property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-05 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04). GS-06 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). GS-07 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Education
