This vacancy is for an Inventory Management Specialist position in the Department of Commerce located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.

Duties
Coordinates and exercises control over supplies, equipment, or other material through one or more phases of material management for shipping, receiving and warehouse operations.
Initiates and coordinates required procedures for property management through establishing and maintaining liaison with inventory managers, contractors and/or vendors.
Follows and evaluates existing new or modified program and/or management policies, regulations, goals, or objectives for monitoring the incoming, storage and outgoing property.
Creates reports for the payment of authorized invoices for equipment ordered.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: establishing and maintaining working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders with regards to property and logistics management; leading and facilitating communications with internal and external customers and Senior leadership, escalating issues through a chain of command for expedient resolution; communicating with project teams, stakeholders, senior leadership and other project participants regarding project work, communicating program information in person and to a variety of audiences; project management support, activities and coordination; and working with various customers and staff to gather information, prepare documents of findings, and/or present results or recommendations.

A master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related

A combination of education and experience
