This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Host & Compute Site Operations Section - Columbus.
Duties
Oversees the implementation of plans, programs, and procedures for performance of traditional security operations at the Defense Enterprise Computing Centers (DECCs).
Acts as the principal advisor to the DECC Director on protection of facility, personnel, equipment and information.
Serves as the technical authority and source of expert information and guidance in the specialty areas.
Provides expert advice and guidance to the worldwide network of security managers and security specialists in the field organizations, as well as, Center senior-level managers on policy interpretation, and implementation.
Plans, develops, and conducts studies, analyses, and projects to ensure sound security methods, techniques, and procedures are in place to comply with statutes, regulations, policies and directives of various regulatory bodies
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance is required for this position.
- This is a drug test designated position subject to initial and random drug testing.
- This is a Mission Essential position.
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) is required.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as experience reviewing, analyzing, and resolving policy and program security issues in order to manage an organization's personnel and physical security, sensitive compartmented information and Operations Security operations.
