This position is located at the Information, Tickets and Travel (ITT) Office aboard NS Mayport Florida. The primary function of this position is to support a program that ensures Navy readiness and retention by providing and promoting widely diverse recreational activities as well as entertainment and travel options that will enhance the quality of life for military members, their families, retires and their families as well as other eligible MWR patrons.
Duties
Administers a comprehensive and versatile information, ticket and tours program. Sells tickets to concerts, attractions and other events. Establishes and maintains close working relationships with travel operators, restaurants, hotel/motels, theme parks and attraction in the local commuting area. Periodically acts as tour guide or investigates tour destinations to insure maximum success and patron satisfaction. Packages, prices and schedules tours to meet anticipated demand and according to availability of destination, costs, and probability of success.
Prepares, monitors and evaluates ITT NAF and APF budget to include UFM monies for annual budget and monthly status reports of variances and inventory differences to the proper chain of command. Acts as Tri-Base coordinator of tours and the annual Travel Fair. Organize locations, dates and times with tri-base area and incorporates into the Nationwide ITT Travel Show schedule. Markets tours through all ITT/ITR offices. Ensures special needs for the customers are included in cruise, hotel or dinner reservations.
Responsible for preparing daily activity reports for cruise and hotel commissions on a daily or as needed basis. Orders and sells various theme park tickets. Responsible for joint events with other MWR programs, such as overnight trips with the Liberty Program to include hotel reservations, bus reservation and tickets for attractions or Youth Activities trips to include bus reservation, driver and ticket costs.
Keeps ticket prices current. Submits invoices and goods movements to accounting for payment. Responsible for marketing campaigns for all ITT tours, prices and special events that are submitted to MWR Marketing Department. Responsible for maintaining ticket inventories. Negotiates local contracts on the Nationwide Military Ticket Voucher Program in conjunction with the US Army and Marine Corps.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Candidate must have at least one-year combined experience working in a Ticket and Travel Office AND 2-3 years management experience with budget and supervisory duties.
Knowledge gained through relevant education and training (i.e., bachelor's degree in Recreation, Marketing, Business or closely related field) and/or equivalent recreation related work experience.
Combination of experience related to customer service and or activity-based functions.
Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to individuals and groups of varying demographics, ages and interests.
Ability to create, negotiate, implement, and sustain partnerships via various MWR agreements.
Ability to maintain a clear and accurate data base.
Must have demonstrated knowledge of recreational and entertainment events.
Must hold valid driver's license.
Knowledge of the entire scope of activities and their suitability in the Community Recreation Program for individuals and groups of varying demographics, ages and interests.
CPR/First Aid certification required but can be achieved within 60 days of hire.
