All U.S. Citizen who reside or are currently employed in the Fort Meade local commuting area, which includes the District of Columbia and Baltimore City; Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Prince George, Montgomery, Howard, Harford, Charles, Calvert, Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore; Adams County in Pennsylvania; Virginia counties of Arlington and Fairfax and all cities existing in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties.

The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Investigations Case Analyst in Federal Investigative Records Enterprise (FIRE) Automated Federal Leads Center (AFLC) located at Fort Meade, MD or Boyers, PA.
As a SUPERVISORY INVESTIGATIONS CASE ANALYST you will be responsible for the following duties:
The incumbent plans, directs, operates, controls and overseas the operations of a teams of Investigative Assistants who are responsible for conducting electronic record checks.
The incumbent will establish internal procedures for the completion and control of case/item processing; plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinate personnel and sets and/or adjust priorities.
Identifies employees' training needs and arranges for on-the-job training or other training as required.
Monitors completed work of their team for adequacy and appropriateness and evaluates employees' work performance.
Participate as subject matter expert as needed in conducting, participating in and/or monitoring special projects and working groups.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-11) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Conducting and reporting a wide variety of investigations primarily involving Federal personnel operations; Conducting analysis of internal case management processes to include security and suitability programs of customer agencies; Evaluating various types of cases utilizing knowledge of the Privacy laws, the Adjudicators Handbook, and the Investigations Processing Handbook; Operating background Investigations systems to include Field Work System (FWS), Performance Improvement Plans (PIPS) and OPM Personnel Investigations Processing System Imaging System (OPIS); Conducting audits to ensure contract management regulations are routinely met. Leading employees or teams to support the mission.
