You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the Transportation Branch of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will conduct studies and special surveys to determine the current, projected, normal and emergency vehicle/ automotive equipment requirements or replacement of equipment. You will monitor and evaluate directives and policies related to the Transportation Business Line. You will ensure the government and/or Base Operating Support Contractor (BOSC) meets financial program management requirements. You will advise and make recommendations to higher authorities concerning transportation matters. You will receive and physically inspect all new equipment. You will schedule transportation requests, assign operators and determine the type of vehicle/equipment required to support requests.

Requirements

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing and maintaining accurate inventory record for all civil engineer support equipment (CESE) and plant account equipment; 2) Identifying maintenance needs of transportation equipment; 3) Analyzing type, size, tonnage, capacity, and other characteristics of assigned vehicles to determine if adequate, inadequate, or excessive; 4) Managing CESE data using a Transportation Manger database (i.e. MAXIMO); and 5) Classifying all equipment received; assuring new warranties are fulfilled, and keeping repairs within allowable cost limitations. Education

Must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.

OR

Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.

OR

OR

Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
