The primary purpose of this position is administrative and program support for all internal Primary Care Service and Community Based Outpatient Clinic related activities and customers. The Primary Care Service presently consists of the seven CBOC's geographically dispersed throughout the State of South Carolina. The incumbent supports the Primary Care Service in meeting the CBOC's and Medical Center's mission.
Duties
Serves as a point of contact for Primary Care CBOCs and effectively communicates and collaborates with other administrative and clinical services as well as CBOC staff, patients and other stakeholders.
Utilizes and maintains knowledge of multiple computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Prepares miscellaneous communications via fax, telephone or email.
Screens incoming communication such as messages, memorandums, Patient Action Tracking Systems (PATS-R), VAIQ, and determines appropriate actions, routing and personnel.
Prepares all outgoing correspondence to ensure VHA standards are applied and met.
Prepares correspondence and presentations creates and maintains databases.
Receives, screens, and distributes inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/18/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience serving as a secretary or office assistant performing administrative management calendars; recording meeting minutes; reviewing correspondence for appropriate guidelines, proper grammar and punctuation; and preparing correspondence or other documents in final form. Clerical support of various programmatic activities such as fund control points, correspondence, program policies, electronic education requirements and tracking, data entry, processing reports, file maintenance and Personnel Identification Verification (PIV) Sponsor. In addition experience must demonstrate ability to utilize computer technology, as well as ability to interact collaboratively with others to provide consultation and liaison services

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do work. However, there will be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items like papers, books and equipment using a cart. No physical demands are required to perform the work.
