The primary purpose of this position is to Serve as a Security Specialist within the Special Security Office. The incumbent is a military intelligence officer for training, personnel, industrial, computer and administrative security matters which affect Air Force Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) at the Wing and supported units.

Duties
1. Through oversight and direction of the Supervisor, develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and security management objectives.
2. In accordance with applicable DOD and USAF directives, provides oversight and direction for the Information Security Program. Implements local policies and procedures for the classification and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information originated or controlled by supported activities.
3. Provides oversight and reviews program directives such as the Director of Central Intelligence Directive 619, DoD 5105.21-M-I, and Air Force Manual 14-304 to ensure compliance. Reviews Fixed Facility Checklists, self inspection reports, work requirements, and requests for concept approval for accreditation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and Temporary Security Working Area (TSW A) authorizations.
4. Determines eligibility of supported personnel for access to SCI. Coordinates SCI eligibility determinations, special purpose access and compelling need actions with the USTRANSCOM SSO and or Air Force Central Adjudication Facility (AFCAF) prior to indoctrination.
5. Develops and promulgates programs designed and tailored to meet the security needs of supported organizations.

Qualifications
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GG-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Comprehensive knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security procedures; and to review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex problems for a multi-functional security program (i.e., physical, personnel, and information security) within the organization. NOTE: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Detailed knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security procedures for physical, personnel, and information security programs within the organization.
2. Detailed knowledge DoD, DIA, and other Air Force missions, functions, goals, and objectives.
3. Practical experience to effectively write and orally communicate security information to various audiences, to include line staff and management.
4. Experience in establishing effective professional working relationships with coworkers, contributing to a Cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
5. Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of command in all kinds of situations, to include processing very sensitive information about personnel, handling alarm activations, interfacing with civilian, federal, and military police forces, and keeping calm in emergency situations.
6. Ability to effectively plan, assess, monitor and use various computer programs with diverse applications.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT..:
1. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
