About the Position: Ft. Moore is located in the "Tri-Community" comprised of Columbus and Ft. Moore, GA; and Phenix City, AL. Columbus (third-largest city in Georgia) is a growing community.

Duties

Responsible for the accomplishment of broad management functions with the planning, management, administration and implementation of the technical and administrative operations of the housing management program. Lead in the development of overall installation plans and procedures for barracks sustainment to include restoration, modernization, and/or replacement projects. Review, evaluate, and interpret policies and procedures, developing and recommending guidance required to provide sufficient criteria for accomplishment of the mission goals/assignments. Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative, responsible for management, oversight, guidance, fiscal policy, and control of contractor owned-government leased quarters as required.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
  • Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • This position is an inclement weather essential position and the incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • Requires after hours call-back for emergencies.
  • Requires that employee pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
  • This is a Term position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) reviewing inspections of community rental property to determine adequacy, habitability and suitability as a listing for referral; 2) assisting in the development of installation plans and procedures for barracks sustainment; 3) evaluating operating costs of project finances; and 4) overseeing the management of contracts supporting housing functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
