This HOUSING OFFICER is located in the Housing Division, Directorate of Logistics at a Category A, Army National Guard Major Training Area (MTA) and is part of the CA Training Site CSLO.
Duties
THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION
The primary purpose of the HOUSING OFFICER, GS-1173-9, is to manage the housing at a major training area which includes such temporary quarters as barracks. BOQ's, BEQ's, and VIP housing as well as other troop buildings (e.g administrative buildings, and dining facilities). The work requires supervision of warehouse workers, clerks, laborers, custodians, and maids. A substantive portion of the subordinates are supervised through the use of a subordinate supervisor.
Qualifications
HOUSING OFFICER, GS-1173-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience directing and reviewing the assignment of troop buildings, furnishings, and equipment in the cantonment area; Experience resolving controversies and problems that arise over the assignment of space; Experience coordinates the operation, maintenance, and utilization of troop buildings with other organizations in the training site to assure efficient and timely housing services maintenance, alteration, minor construction, painting, and repairs; Experience supervising a warehousing operation responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing furnishings and equipment.

Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work required.
