About the Position: This position may be filled at the GS-06 or GS-07 level. If selection is at the GS-06 level, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted pending time-in-grade requirements and demonstrated ability to perform the next level/grade duties.
Duties
Determine eligibility, entitlements and options available to personnel traveling on government directed official travel.
Review travel orders to determine authority and entitlements identified for the directed travel.
Analyze guides/regulations to ensure travel is by the most economical mode, route and fare that will meet mission requirements.
Book flights utilizing the Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES).
Review documents and complete passport applications through the Visa Passport Automated System (VPAS).
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Must obtain passport New Agent course certification within 180 days of employment and complete refresher course every 2 years.

To Qualify for the GS-06 Level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with calendar/scheduling management, tracking task due dates and researching regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
To Qualify for the GS-07 Level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on travel entitlements at government expense, reviewing government travel documents for accuracy and entering and retrieving government travel data in an automated database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements. Current employees applying under VEOA are subject to time-in-grade restrictions like any other GS employee.
